Look closely and there are small dark specks scattered right through the cloth, which is where the name comes from. Character, not a fault.

Fabric and care
We wash and tumble dry every fabric before we cut it, so it is already preshrunk by the time it becomes a garment. Wash cold, under 30 degrees, and hang to dry rather than tumble drying, and it will hold its size.
